Introducing Troy Vision Therapy

What is Troy Vision Therapy?

Troy Vision Therapy is an independent vision therapy office owned by Dr Carolyn Davis. Over the years the doctors at Procare Vision Center have seen a need for a vision therapy office to serve its patients and the surrounding communities.  In 2010 Dr Davis, opened the new business and brought on board developmental optometrist, Dr Lauren Grillot, to head the staff.  Dr Grillot earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree and a Master’s degree in Vision Science from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.

If after your child’s comprehensive eye exam, the doctor feels it necessary to do more testing, your child may be referred to Troy Vision Therapy for a developmental assessment.

Troy Vision Therapy also accepts referrals from other doctors or directly from patients who feel they would benefit from this service.

What is Vision Therapy?

Vision Therapy is a treatment process used to improve visual function. It includes a broad range of developmental and rehabilitative treatment programs individually prescribed by developmental optometrists to improve specific sensory motor and/or visual perceptual dysfunctions that interfere with reading, learning and quality of life.

What is a Developmental Assessment?

A developmental assessment is a much more in-depth exam than a regular eye exam. It is performed by a developmental optometrist who is trained in assessing eye tracking, eye teaming, focusing, visual memory, perception and other visual system tasks.

Adult Functional Vision Assessment

Similar to the children’s developmental vision exam, this assessment focuses on binocularity, oculomotililty, accommodation, visual perception with emphasis on how our eyes function in the workplace, near tasks and prolonged use of the computer.
